AREAS OF ACTION :: ADULT AND INDEPENDENT LIFE
The Down Galicia Movement upholds independent living as a human right for everyone. Thus, our project is based on the freedom to make decisions about life itself, as well as the capacity to decide how, when, and with whom someone wants to live.
People with cognitive disabilities, and particularly those with Down syndrome, must be prepared from an early age to exercise and enjoy this fundamental right. The Adult Life area offers support to people with Down syndrome and cognitive disabilities wishing to live on their own, as a couple, or with others, so that they can take control of their own lives.
